Odir.org Review: A Confusing Directory Site with Broken Thumbnails
When I opened odir.org, I got confused. I saw a lot of pictures, but none of them worked. I thought something was wrong with the site. But after looking more, I saw that this is just how the site looks. I do not know why.
The site does not look great, but I figured out what it is. The description is in German, but I translated it for you. It says “Directory of similar websites.” At first, I didn’t know what this meant.
After looking into it further, I learned what the site is for. It helps you find sites for music, beauty products, and other things. This was the first time I’d seen a site like this, so I didn’t know what to think.
Simple Design
The site does not look good. The white background is too bright. The broken pictures make it worse. It does not look good at all.
There are some tabs at the top, but most of them do not work. One tab for categories does nothing when you click it. Another odir.org lets you add new pages. This part seems good, but it lets anyone add any page. They do not check if it’s right first. This seems bad.
If you want to see new pages, go to the “NEU” tab. But I don’t think it matters much. The site is not useful.
Broken Links Everywhere
The biggest problem is broken links. When I clicked a link, it did not work. Only a few links worked. Most links gave me an error. This is a big problem.
They have lists of sites, but most of those links do not work. It’s bad when so many things do not work.
Mixed Languages
Another problem is the mix of German and English. Some parts are in German, and some parts are in English. It’s confusing. They should let you pick one language. It is hard to use two languages.
A Weird Mix of Things
The site has many different links. Some of them are strange. For example, you can find a list of furniture sites. But right under that, you see gay porn sites. I do not know why these are together. It is weird. I don’t want to look at both things in the same place.
Why It’s Not Good
Even though the site has lots of lists with hundreds of sites, I would not use it. Most links do not work. There is no way to search for things. It is better to use Google. The site tries to help you find things, but it doesn’t work well with broken links or images.
